I would tell her that you just don't have the room.

After reading everyone's thoughts, even I could say NO and that is hard for me to turn anyone down. But you really do need to say NO!

Oh my goodness...
how many times in the past have i let myself be talked into something? __
(put any number in that blank.)
now,
how many times have I been sorry about letting myself
be talked into something? __
(put the SAME number in this blank that you put in the first one.)
The point is - you have had this lady in your home before and you KNOW what that was like.
Does she have a weapon on you?
Can she have you arrested if you don't let her stay?
So, why would you even consider saying anything but, NO?
You don't have to give her an explanation.
Nope, sorry. Shut the door, or put down the phone.
People that hope they get help in the future, will try to put good will in their bank account with people.
She didn't do that when given the chance.
So, if you let her back in, just bc you worry about what ppl will think you will get what you are worried about.
Why aren't those ppl taking her in?????
Bc they know, and so do you.

A number of years we had our DIL and grand daughter for 18 months, a few years ago we had her sister live with us for 3 years to go to high school ( was suppose to be for the 4 years but her Mom had a melt down, and yanked her out just before her senior year). In between these two stayes their Mom was homeless, before we were asked, I said, "NO she can't come here".

NO, it's that simple...no excuses needed. This is your life, do you REALLY want to share it with her???? Now THAT NO was easy, wasn't it??? So will the other one. This way, you'll have NO regrets!! See how that N-O is getting easier??? lol Stay strong!! It will give you more peace of mind and you've earned it. Keep thinking how happy you were when she left the last time and that you don't want to go through that again!!
(Plus your cats will HATE you for allowing that DOG in their space!! lol) :D

My Dad always says "What takes nerve to ask takes NO nerve to refuse."

If you can't say no for your sake, say no for your husband's
sake. Why should either of you have to live in an uncomfortable situation at this point - or any point -of your life. If you can't say "No Way!!!!" try
"You're joking, right????" and then just close the door- firmly.

Be firm and know that you have all of us behind you. Stick to what you & your DH agree to and do not budge. Life is too short to be put in a situation that you do not want or need to be put into needlessly. You can do it..Just say NO & that is all you need to say.

martha jo 02-12-2010 01:53 AM

Absolutely no. No explanation because she will only challenge it. Hang in there and be "tougj" you can do it for your own sanity.

martha jo 02-12-2010 01:54 AM

Sorry, can't type.

LindaR 02-12-2010 07:11 AM
