If some ambitious seamstress would want, I really think that they could turn that into a business, making a line of practical dresses from the style of that period!Hey - I would be your first customer, a sundress with a bolero! Remember that style???

We shop at thrift stores for our school plays. The girls love wearing "girly Grandma dresses" as they call dresses with full skirts and belted waist. Saw on TV this morning that full and pleated skirts are coming back especially in spring coats.

There is one here in Salt Lake and some of the clothes are really neat and it's fun just to go look. Prices are very reasonable. Don't Remember name, but it,s about 9th south and state street.

If my tops are too long (like tunics) then I look really short. But I do like my bottom covered.

I was married in the late 50s & made myself a lot of shirtwaist dresses to wear around the house. We called them housedresses - lol. I had a couple of patterns that each had different neckline & sleeve options - so I could make them so no two looked alike. Now I wear sweats most of the time - lol.

I would definitely shop there. I think I, and most women, look much nicer in dresses and skirts. I don't understand why women have abandoned dresses and skirts. Have mirrors gone away too?? I have a small farm so spend most of my life in jeans, esp. in the winter. Soon I'll be getting out my jumpers and big aprons....except for when I'm on my horse or my bike.

I love all the old clothes but think I would like to back a few years. I like the ones that are almost floor length. Can't find any places to buy them today.

Ok that was a good one! Started my day out with a laugh. I don't think I would go for 50s or 60s dresses but then I can't remember the last time I had a dress on. I do agree that I would love to find long tunic style shirts.
