All I can say is good luck, that beautiful recliner will be in shreds. For my retirement we bought one just like it for my naps. All 4 of my cats are declawed, all four paws, they don't tear up anything. All are inside cats.
Lots of rumors about declawing and I can assure everyone, there is not a truthful fact in it. Oldest is 15 yr.s old and he does everything any cat does, except shred furniture and climb trees, he hasn't been outside since I brought him in about 6 weeks, the other three are the same.

Same here, my other cats I had were declawed. I'm going to have my son make them a scratching post and play area next weekend.
