This year he gave me something new AllerX to take as needed. No spring sinus infection. It is quite expensive $739. for 30 days. Thank God my insurance paid. Get allergy tested.

I don't have allergies but I have a very sesitive nose so I get problems with that along w/sinuses. I have found that I need to switch my meds back and forth every season because I become immune to them. I go back and forth with Allegra, Zrytec and sometimes a couple of others. I also like the new Advil Congestion meds that is out; when it's really bad I take that along with my allergy meds. I also like the saline solution to help w/my nose. I'm happy to hear your insurance paid for yours I know a lot of people who use one of the biggest ins. co. out there and they won't pay for thiers; makes no since. They both end up w/infections because the over the counter stuff doesn't work and yet the company would rather pay for the antibiotics instead of the prevention. I'm lucky; I have two insurance plans and so they normally pay for it all.

go back to your ENT and tell him and he can treat whatever is going on.

Have you heard of a nettie pot? I read about it in the paper and went and bought one at the pharmacy. My husband has bad allergies and asthma and uses it frequently. You use a solution using salt and water and pour it through your nostrils twice daily. Wonder of wonders, it really works and it does not hurt. Try it.

Since Easter I have been suffering from allergies that have made breathing a major full time job wit swollen sinuses- this is a first for me. Everywhere I turn people are suggesting the Netty pot as a way to clear the sinuses of anything that can lead to an infection. Check with the doctor and your health food store. This is a non medical, easy to do process when ever method of helping clear the sinuses. People who have them swear by them as the first step in avoiding and clearing infections. It certainly is a great alternative to immedialty using a med. IT also is worth a try.

or maybe rinse your sinuses out like Carol Burnett does. I've done it, it's not so bad. I do it over my bathroom sink but she's done it on t.v. shows!

I can't recommend enough the sinus rinse. I do it every morning in the shower, it's just easier that way.

At my worst, I had five sinus infections in just a little over a year. I had allergy testing, nothing significant resulted. But since I started the rinses, I've only had about two sinus infections in the past 15 years!

I use plain tap water with a little baking soda -- seems to go better than salt. I got the squirt bottle from the allergy doctor, so maybe check with your ENT...

I have had chronic sinus problems all my life. Is there some way you can support your immune system? Drugs are just a temporary fix. If I go outside I start sneezing. Air conditioning stops my headup, especially if I sit near a register or in a car. Low pressure weather systems effects my sinuses. The biggy for me is emotions. If I get upset, then two days later I come down with a sinus attack. If you find a cure, send a private message.

To help prevent sinus problems, find a thin stocking cap and wear it to bed at night. My dad has done this for decades and keeping his forehead warmer at night keeps him from getting sinus problems.

Other than antibiotics or toughing it out, I don't know how to get rid of your sinus infection.

What is Kombucha and how do you ingest it?

----------------------------------------
It's a drink that you start with sweetened black tea. You put the starter=called a Scoby=Symbiotic Combination of Bacteria and Yeasts=in it and it ferments the tea into a drink that turns from a hard cider and can go into vinegar. On top of it will grow a flat waxy pancake thing that will keep growing and making new ones for the rest of your life and beyond.
From what I've found online, it's several thousand years old. There are Kombucha forums online, check them out.
I like mine just to the point of being sour, then put it in bottles with cloves, ginger and Stevia for 3 or 4 days, then in the fridge and drink 8 or more ounces per day. Poured over ice it's real nice in summer, and at the age of 77 I think it gives me more energy. Not a health food fanatic, just a health food nut.
Want to know how to fix it? PM me.

Don't know how much time you spend in your car, but mold, residue, etc. in the car air conditioning system can really add to those problems. Nearly did in a friend of mine. Blessings on you.
