They just dont get it.

They need their own hobby. Here, fly tying is the dominant mess maker. NO ONE says a word to me about my quilting stuff! Even though I'm out numbered, they know not to EVEN go there!

Whats the ol' saying of "she who dies with the most fabric wins" How would you ever win? I know I would be atleast a runner up.
Good luck in the retraining of her.

Did you drop this poor child on her head when she was little? :):) Just tell her she's been cut out of the will as you are spending all your money on fabric.
Or you could threaten her like I do my kids- who ever is lowest on the favorites list when I die, they get the treasured 'crap' that is crammed in the garage. That will teach them hahahha...

IJM, at least she noticed...The only one of my girls who seems even remotely interested in sewing/quilting is my youngest...she want to get some corduroy and have me help her ake a quilt for her DH. (They were just married this past September.)

If your DD is any thing like my DD. I told her have you cleaned your room yet?

Well, actually that's about what I do. So I have stacks of fabric for future quilts. I see a pattern I want to make and then I buy fabric for at least one, and sometimes more. Then there are the remnants and scraps from making the quilts. Her theory really doesn't work either! You'd still end up with "stash". Now if you just bought fabric for one quilt, made the quilt, and then went to get fabric for the next quilt . . . well, that would be really sick! [with my apologies to those who can only afford to do it that way . . . but that's where the forum comes in to help those folks increas their stash.]

Oh, dear, even my boys learned by early age not to mess with or talk about Mom's fabric. Those days I was sewing clothes and they might get a shirt out of one of those "gaudy" (as IF) fabrics. Now they are 35 and 39 and they ask why I haven't bought any fabrics lately.
