I was using a container of Round Up vegetation killer & it the spray nozze leaked & made dark stains on my sun dress. It dried before I was done working, but after the Spray N Wash did not work, I made an OxyCleen paste & got 95%of the stain out.

I like Grandmas Spot Remover.. It works great on stains that are old...

Our's do the same thing...I keep a spray bottle of Oxy Clean in the bathroom and spray stains when the clothes come off before they go in the laundry basket. Sometimes dh does the laundry and I know he won't remember to spray. For our light carpet I use peroxide blotted in with a sponge and it takes it all out...wouldn't use it on darker carpet though as it could affect the color...

here is another old fashioned trick...for organic and fruit stains on cloth. After washing, put in the freezer overnight. Yup it does work. I used to live in cold country and we would line/freeze dry our wash. The freezing would take out most organic stains. When the clothes were still stiff with moisture but half dry we would bring them in and hang them on a rack in front of the old stoke-a-matic furnace. It even helped stained diapers.

some of the stain removal sprays say not to let them dry on your fabrics before washings. spray and toss in.

I love the Oxy clean powder, not so crazy about the laundry spray..

Our son was in drum corps every summer for, I think, 6 years. I discovered Oxy Clean works better the hotter the water you can use. The clothes that came back after a summer living on busses and in school gyms, touring the US, and doing a physically and musically demanding show every night -well those clothes were horrific. Some were beyond saving but OC and hot water did the trick for the rest. H-O-T water rules right next to OC!

thanks, good information to know.

I use Oxy Clean to whiten up my sink..it is a white composite material, and absorbs stains like crazy...but a couple scoops in a sink full of water overnight whitens it right back to new!
