A random question about Lemi Shine
Do any of you use (now or in the past) a product called
Lemi Shine? I have been using it for about 5-6 years if not longer. We (hubs & I) discovered it when our dishes & drinking glasses had a horrible cloudy look to them and nothing I tried seemed to eliminate it and giving me back my shiny CLEAN looking dishes. We buy the Lemi Shine Original and put 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp.(depending on how dirty dishes are) into the dishwasher with EVERY load. I haven't had cloudy dishes since. I LOVE this stuff. Yes I also continue to use a rinse agent for the dishes and Finish tablets. The Lemi Shine also works great (although a little elbow grease might be needed sometimes) on cleaning hard water spots around the sink/faucet. If you might be wondering what kind of gibberish I am talking about here is a link to the website. Lemi Shine |
Have never used it but will definitely look for it at Walmart & Target.

Going to try to remember to check this out as well. Can't believe how horrible my dishes are with the (relatively) new (@ 5 yrs) dishwasher. Hate this blanking dishwasher! Do you know if you can use it for clothes washers with your laundry as well?

Thank you for the information, I have well water and have a problem with hard water stains.
|
Yes, we've been using it for quite a while. Keeps the dishwasher nice and shiny too. NJ Quilter, it's probably not your dishwasher but the detergents. They had to change the formulas recently and the detergents aren't working as well. I had the same problem with cloudy glasses, etc. until we found Lemi Shine.

thanks for the info

I buy citric acid in large bags (5 lbs.) It keeps the drains clear, the lime buildup under control, and my glasses clearer. It is pretty inexpensive--always a plus!

Citric acid has a lot of other uses, too.

Yes, I know they changed all the detergents/soaps re phosphates. I have no idea what kind of environmental damage they may have been doing but they certainly were getting clothes cleaner! We have very 'hard' water here causing all kinds of stains/build up on anything and everything. But the dishwasher is a whole different ballgame. It's a relatively new (@ 5 yr) mid-line KitchenAid. It's one that uses next to no water. It's quiet as anything but it's been a nightmare almost from the day we bought it. Can't tell you how many times the repair folks have been here. At least this last episode I was able to do an easy 're-set' and getting running again on my own.
I'll definitely be looking for this product. |
It is available at Walmart in our area. It works well.
