I ordered something (an ereader, finally! I decided to finally just pick one and buy- anyway!) I started to get UPS notifications up the wazoo. I tried to open the first one thinking it was telling me when my reader would arrive, and my antivirus software stopped it from opening saying it stopped a computer attack. After that I just dont open them, but Im still getting about 10 a day in my email. It looks (almost!) like a real UPS notice, so if you arent expecting anything dont open it when it comes, sharet

I've had 2 in the last week but they start out with" Dear Customer". If it is legit it will have your correct name and why would they need to have an attachment

I just had a warning not to open those as there is a virus involved.

i got one yesterday in my junk email folder. along with tons of other emails.

yep got one of those today in fact and another from "Mom", deleted it to. My Mom's emails use her email name, not "Mom".

Please do NOT open emails like that! I kept getting them supposedly from UPS, which sounded logical, because some of the shops do send by UPS. I sent it unopened to UPS, and they said it was not theirs, that they do not do things that way. And they NEVER ask for particulars in an email.

But to be sure, you can right click on the sender's name and then click on "View message source". If somewhere in all the gibberish that pops up you don't see a familiar address or name, then delete it without opening. Better safe than sorry.

I don't know if it works on all email addresses, but on mine I can hover my cursor over the senders address and will often find that it is NOT the name of the company that the subject line says it is. It will have an address that really tells what kind of person it is from. Instance, I got an email stating that my Bank of America account had been closed. That was the subject line. I hovered and saw that it was from AbcUguessedIt.com. No doubt that it was a scam from that but I DON'T have a BofA account anyway so if they closed it, that wouldn't bother me! These places buy email addressed and send hoping that they can get someone to respond. Sometimes they contain links to porn or "MALE enhancements" or buying drugs online.

Try hovering your cursor.

My SIL is a computer security engineer and he told me to do this to check on any e-mail.
