I have been getting the "senior" discount since I was about 25. I starting turning gray at 17. At first I got upset but after a few dollars you can just smile and run to the bank.

I was shopping with my older aunt (who had snow white hair) and they gave me the disount--in my 40's, and did not give it to her. She couldn't wait to get home and call and tell everyone. Until the day she died, she'd get a funny look on her face and start laughing and I always knew what she was thinking.

AARP has been trying to get my business since I was 41. I would rather have your discount.

Our senior center accepts memberships if you are 50 or older, so it just depends on what the establishment rules are-- I agree with the others who say "take the money and run" (run to the nearest fabric store and add to you stash :)

My hair was prematurely white.
Inherited from maternal grandparents.
Started when I was a senior in high school.

I was given a discount at 42.
Colored now but I am letting is
grow off. It looks awful but
I m getting there.

I worked hard to get old enough for these discounts! Besides, this is $10 that can go towards fabric! Congrats!

Perfectly said. Ditto!

Remember to the young people who work in these restaurants (and other places) anyone over "30" is "old". Enjoy the discounts!!!

Ha! I was checking out at Joann's and the cashier put a senior discount coupon in my bag. I said, "I'm not a senior." She said, "Maybe you know someone who is."

I was not in a good mood and kind of offended. I'm 47.
