My Civic is 1998 with 188,000 miles and I am working on 250,000 miles (or more). But it does not look as good as yours. People seem to think my car needs lots of dings. They sure are good cars.

We have a car with 217,000 miles for 14 years. 6 of the 7 kids learned to drive on it. I was devastated when hubby said it couldn't be fixed. It was our "reliable Reliant". A cheap $10,000.00 K car that my brother said we would rue the day we bought it. I miss that car.

But then I was also the only one upset when we got rid of the minivan and went to a car. The kids were very happy. I've been car shopping and the minivans still call my name....

Enjoy your new car- I absolutely LOVE the color!!!

vickimc 07-09-2011 05:45 AM

"Cinnabar" We had a Malibu back in the 80's and that was the name of the color. It is also the name one of my all time favorite perfumes by Estee Lauder.

chickadee_42us 07-09-2011 06:15 AM

When my daughter had a Pontiac with similar color we referred to it as the Flying Pumpkin, alas, I need not explain how it got that name hum, her driving speed!!

Cris 07-09-2011 06:21 AM

Rusty (my mom's nick name, came from her red hair)

the last name is also appropriate for the orange "peel". or "peel" out.

You took my thought...Mrs. Peel...from the Avengers...

Absolutely, Emma Peel gets my vote. My DH always thought Emma Peel was very sexy but also a "takes care of business and can do anything" kind of girl .... a survivor of sorts!!!

I think they earn their names, and their gender. Give it time - it will come.

My mother, who will be 80 the end of this month, has a brand new candy apple red one. She loves it. Good luck with the naming process. I would have to drive her to be able to give her a name.

GladGrams 07-09-2011 08:39 AM

My DH had a 1976 green Dodge van we called The Green Lizard
I had Tan Ford van I called Clyde (camel)
Had a 1964 Mustang that someone started painting yellow with spray paint and it had a red fender and a white top. a friend dubbed it "Spot". Then a blue Mustang that got dubbed "Blue Spot"
I now have a Caddillac (old) that the key clicker only works sporadically. I call her "Hussy" when it won't open and "Good Girl" when it works.

GGinMcKinney 07-09-2011 12:32 PM
