I don't mind an anchor on a sailor's arm.. or a heart that says "MOM".. or even a butterfly on a young woman's shoulder, but what young people (and some older ones) are doing now just makes me sad.. Thousands of dollars invested and they are ALL over their bodies..

I saw a very pretty and shapely girl just yesterday with both arms, her entire chest down into her cleavage, all of her back as far as I could see, a big ugly vine winding up her leg out of her shoe, and a big round picture of something that looked like a centerpiece with 4th of July stars stuck into it on her upper thigh... She was young, in her 20's, and nice looking.. the tats are nice, smooth and colorful now. but can you just fast forward to when she is in her 60's.. oh my.. That is not going to look like it does now.. I hate to see it.. I will hate to see someone like that when they are in the 60's, 70's and 80's .. especially women (I know, don't yell at me please).

I wish they would stop and think about that.. and the fact that you just don't see anyone with an upper end job, or public figure, or television person looking like that.. Perhaps there are some, but not many.. While what a person looks like may not be the whole story, it is what people see first, and make a first judgement on. I think it behoves everyone to look as presentable as they can. Tattoos all over don't come across to the world like they do to these fad following folks.

it became so much that i go with little sheets of paper with the web address written on them.

i also teach children to quilt thru the school system in my neighborhood and thru girl scouts and i give them all a tattoo when they complete their first project.

its a real motivator for them.

here's a link to the tattoo if any of you would like to buy one or more.

I have admired your avatar, too, so thanks for the link!

If the Lord had wanted my body defaced, he would have done it himself. Aging itself seems to be doing a great job. LOL

I have had my eyeliner tattooed on top and bottom lids 2 times-I love it and will have it re-done when this fades too much. I never wear make-up and everyone thinks I'm made up first thing in the morning :)

Absolutely not! No way never!

This Great-Grandma has 1 (a black widow spider) on my right ankle. It was a gift for me from me on my 70th. birthday and I'm pleased with it. I had always wanted one even though DH said "NO WAY" - you know what made up my mind, don't you? That "NO WAY" !!!

My 50th birthday present to myself was a tattoo. One of my students was serving an apprenticeship under a master tattoo artist, that had done my brother's tattoo 30 years ago, so I took my design to the student and he did an amazing job. My son paid for it. I've never regretted it.
