Never mind... I was looking at the wrong thing. It is $8.00. Quite a jump. The sad thing is that the service keeps getting worse while they raise prices.

I will stock up. Although I pay bills online, I like sending birthday, anniversary, sympathy and encouragement cards by snail mail. In buying Forever stamps a couple weeks ago, I didn't even figure out the per stamp price.

I have a subscription to some pretty cute cards and I send them email. I have had people tell me how much they enjoyed them and have made a folder for them as far as the mail getting worse you are right we are getting quite a bit that has been opened somebody must be nosy wanting to know about my bills because I do not get personal mail at the post office, I pay enough for internet so may as well use it

Curious as to what you hated about paying online. I have been thinking about switching all my bill paying to online.

Amazon messes up a lot, too. I have a neighbor on the street over from mine who apparently orders a lot from Amazon. A lot of them end up on my porch. Also, their mail and Fed Ex packages. And don't get me started on trying to get Fed Ex to pick up a package they delivered to the wrong house . . .

I have done all my bill paying on line for several years and it has been so much easier to keep up with everything and my bank keeps all paper work for 7 years and if I want anything I can print it off and when I can't remember when or if I paid a bill so much easier to click a button than look through a bunch of papers. I just don't see any sense in them having to mail me a statement when they can send it email for occasional bills I use my phone and credit card works for me

I also pay bills online. The bank will even mail out things like my rent check, saving me on stamps.

Although the PO is seeing fewer letters and cards coming through than before the internet, they are surely making up for it with the large number of packages through online shopping. How many millions of sales on Ebay alone each day, most of them going through the PO.

I mail birthday, sympathy & anniv. cards with $$ tucked in. Never had a single problem. I pay my bills & taxes through the mail also, again, never a problem. I mail greeting cards to relatives in Europe for $1, which I think is an incredible bargain. Our meds come 1,500 miles through the mail system & it amazes me how I can order it & 3-4 days later it’s in my hands. Our mail carrier is a kind, pleasant guy.

I tried paying for our newspaper online & they had it so screwed up with access to my bank account, I thought I’d never get it straightened out. To each his own, I guess.

When I worked, I had a chart in my office that compared different carrier rates. All carriers do a fantastic job, but USPS was the cheapest, that was a few years ago so I can’t say if they still are or not.

Cheapest haircut I can get is $12 (that’s 24 stamps). Going rate for a beer @ our neighborhood bar is $3.00 (that’s Happy Hour 1/2 price) & most people drink 2, so a couple will most likely spend $15, including $3.00 tip (or 30 stamps).

Sorry for the rant, just my observation.
