Thanks for the info, I love to read about what dogs "jobs" were! I think its cool that something less "popular" won. Still love the labs, poodles, ect, though!

An interesting fact: All dogs regardless of size, shape color, etc when stripped down to their skeleton are identical to wolves. There are a few differences between the two but both can mate with each other and their offspring can reproduce with no problems. Some of the differences include mating times, tail curling, litter numbers... but for the most part the two different species are so identical that the scientific community debate is whether or not to classify both species as one. The current argument is that dogs are really domesticated wolves.

If I want to make my 10 pound dog's day all I do is rub on him and call him a big bad wolf. He loves it!

Love the Westminster...you get to see dogs not running around your neighborhood. My Lab and Yorkie slept through it since they both think they are perfect!

Love to watch it and always point it out to my babies. And, they always give that "when pigs fly" look -- but I do catch them watching it occasionally.

I have a Clumber Spaniel, Toddy, and two Bearded Collies, Blossom and Kirby.
All of them slept thru the show!

Scottish Deerhound won. Shocked a lot of people, but that's dog shows. I love them. I was floored by all the new breeds since we used to show Great Danes back in the early 60's - I think it was.

Scottish Deer Hound - she was beautiful! She has Minnesota connections too!!!!!! When I saw the hounds in the ring, I thought "She's the one". Unfortunately, Tuesday night I fell asleep watching the show and didn't find out until yesterday's paper that she did! First time ever for a Deer Hound to win. She only weighs 85 lbs. Heck, Bess weighs that much! But then Bess is all muscle. This one is all beauty and hair! Love that dog! But then big dogs like that only have a 5-8 year life expectancy. That's why we have Bess. She's past that! She's heading on to 9 now. And, it is the first time I ever picked the winner so early on! It is so foggy outside. Driving isn't bad, but it isn't a whole lot of fun either. I do like fog! Edie

Loved they show the toy group is my favorite. The White Westminster Terrier won fourth place in the terrier group. Was not as cute as the one in the commercials.

I watched it. I used to show Black Cocker Spanials, so was pleased one made it so far. OF course, I was rutting for it. My dog is very well behaved. The minute he is outside he is gone!! Then I get to do my walk to find him before he gets picked up. He doesn't get loose to often! LOL

I used to have a Westie who loved to watch animals on TV. Didn't matter if it was a bug or an elephant. She would watch intently for long periods of time, softly wimpering. She really loved those dog shows. She passed at age 14. I really miss her. The 2 furbabies I have now are sweet, lovable dogs, but neither have any interest in TV.
