The scent is what gets me. I get a headache walking down the detergent aisle. I use all free and clear. I didn't know Downy had scent free fabric softener. Might have to try it.

Melaleuca scent free. This stuff is so concentrated that a bottle lasts for months. I am not a dealer for Melalecca, just a well satisfied customer.

I have really sensitive skin and I used to use the Arm & Hammer exclusively. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like it cleaned my clothes well enough. I now use tide with bleach alternative with no problems. I did find that fabric softners were often the guilty culprit when I would have an outbreak. I can only use Downy. I am very careful with my body soaps too. Used to use only Neutrogenia but am now able to use only Oil of Olay body washes.

I make my own with Arm and Hammer washing soda, 20 Muleteam Borax, and Fels-naptha bar soap. The recipe makes 2 gallons at a time.

Don't use one brand all the time, All, Purex, Arm & Hammer and once in awhile store brand. Never did like Tide, scent got to me. I don't use softeners either, dryer does a good job, towels come out nice and fluffy and clothes don't have static.
Sorry to hear that so many have skin problems, sounds painful. |
