Our church has a New Year's Eve service so I think I will wrap up 2010 there... then go home to spend the rest of the evening with my family.

Gramof6 12-28-2010 11:25 PM

DH will be gone so it will be just me. Fine with me as I can munch around and snack & sew like a maniac. LOL Planning on a sewing marathon this weekend. Hopefully it will happen! LOL

sgardner 12-29-2010 12:07 AM

With any luck, I will have my Avante 18 delivered, and I won't even notice that a new year has arrived because I will be busy playing with it. I ordered it already, and it was supposed to be here last week.

We don't go out New Years eve, stay in with our pets as they are frightened of the fireworks going off, but we will stay up to see the New Year in, listen as Big Ben strikes midnight, and watch people in the fountain in Trafalgar Square in London, on the telly of course !! Don't like crowded places, or being out in the cold, being home with hubby and pets is best!! and eating what's left of the of the chocolates, nuts, and after eight mints, before making a New Years resolution to loose the weight I gained, eating these treats in the first place.. Happy New Year everyone !!

starlight 12-29-2010 03:42 AM

We have some of the grandkids over for a little party. This might be the year they make it to see the ball drop. It is going to be five of them--I must be crazy. It all starts early evening we make pizzas and play games then a movie goes in with all in the sleeping bags. It is great fun and it is only once a year.

Edie 12-29-2010 03:59 AM

We will stay home, either order out from Famous Dave's or cook myself (depending on what the weather is going to be on Friday). We will, no doubt, be in the arms of Morpheus by 10:30, but we get a nice hug and kiss on New Year's morning when I bring us a cup of coffee. Then we watch FOOTBALL!

Airwick156 12-29-2010 04:08 AM

We are staying home. Hubby will be parked in his recliner chair and I will be up in my sewing room sewing something just not sure what I will be sewing.

phatquilts 12-29-2010 04:23 AM

Staying at home, watching movies,t.v.. on QB here, maybe sewing, reading.....the usual routine. But of course, it is all subject to change if the sand man has anything to do with it.

Happy 2011 To All!

grann of 6 12-29-2010 05:53 AM

I'll be at home alone with the dogs; maybe sewing, most likely sleeping.

alleyoop1 12-29-2010 05:54 AM

Going out to dinner early with DH, then home and probably asleep way before midnight (as usual!)

mdollar 12-29-2010 06:44 AM

Definitely saying home after attending a New Year's Eve prayer service at church. Gonna get a fire going and enjoy the evening with my sweet hubby! Maybe cook a steak and baked potatoe for supper with a good salad on the side! Yum! Yum! Come on New Year's Eve!

Baba71 12-29-2010 07:51 AM

New Year's eve we will probably go to the Casino and be home before midnight and on New Years day hubby will watch ball games all day and I am going shopping. It is our 52 wedding anneversity and isn't that a great way to spend it.?

jad1044 12-29-2010 08:10 AM

We may go out for dinner - then home - we are not partiers at all - and are in bed wayyyyyyyyyyy before midnight anyway - have been known to get up to watch the ball fall in NY, then back to bed shortly thereafter - if we'd wake up -

But, my New Years Eve and Day are planned to sew - if I keep plugging along, I'll get to where I'll have the makings of a new quilt top in the works. So, excited!

I guess That December 31st is more important to me now. We will be celebrating Xavier first birthday. At midnight the kids and grandkids will phone to offer their wishes. I'l spend the day alone reminiscing good souvenirs of my youth. Going to my grandfather in the country, kneeling front of my father for his blessing, kissing the uncles and aunts and eating all kind of goodies, My best souvenir is walking in the village and smelling the crisp cold mixed with the smell of maple logs burning in the wood stove. To all of you I wish health, a little joy everyday and the paradise at the end of your life !

QuiltingGrannie 12-29-2010 08:14 AM

Working, staying home after work, then up early to work again.

gmaybee 12-29-2010 08:15 AM

Staying home. I have to work at the Quilt Store the next day doing demos.

quilt3311 12-29-2010 08:51 AM

Staying home and sewing all day. Thats what I try to do every year.

mrsreeves2 12-29-2010 09:43 AM

We had plans to spend the evening with friends but the weather forcast is for freezing rain/drizzle and snow. So looks like a quiet evening at home. I will probably be working on my New Year's resolution to get my scraps organized. Started the process yesterday.

Up North 12-29-2010 09:49 AM

Just found out I will be babysitting. Oh well they go to bed early.

Chasing Hawk 12-29-2010 09:53 AM

Staying home

Less likely to be maimed or killed by some dumbas*driving while texting and drinking.

We may even "think" about having a drink or at least looking at that bottle of wine that has taken up residence here about 8 months ago....LOL

Luckynumber7 12-29-2010 10:13 AM

Staying home. There's supposed to be bad weather over the weekend.

sall 12-29-2010 11:40 AM

For many many years, my husband and I along with a couple of friends always went to a dinner dance at a hotel and always stayed overnight in the hotel. But is now a case of been there, done that, worn the t shirt, and all I want now is to stay home and go to bed at the normal time. Don't even bother to stay up till midnight.

AnnieH 12-29-2010 11:57 AM

We're staying at home. Probably share a bottle of bubbly . Can't ask for more than my DH at New Year.
Annie

Staying home---grandaughter & boyfriend will be over--some movies, games, food---should be fun. Never was one for going out on New Years Eve. Too many crazies drinking & driving.

fluffyme02 12-29-2010 02:52 PM

I work 6am to 6pm both new years eve and new years day. I wouldn't do anything anyway. I usually stay home and let the people who shouldn't drink and drive have full range of the roadways. I work at the hospital here. Please, I beg everyone, do NOT drink and then drive. NO, you are NOT okay. Please, let everyone be safe!!!! :?

Leann 12-29-2010 02:53 PM

We are staying home, too. Nice and safe.

nursie76 12-29-2010 02:54 PM

We are leaving for our sons place in Rochester, NY tomorrow after work. We will be staying home at his place New Years eve and day. That is our Christmas with him.

NUTMEG10 12-29-2010 03:03 PM

I have a date with my bed. TeHe It is a safe place to be on New Years Eve. Have my wine, watch first night on tv. I want to wish everyone a Healthy and Happy New Year.

katiebear1 12-29-2010 03:18 PM

I think the last time we went out on NY Eve was 1983! Really,I am serious! And I think the last time we stayed up until midnight was 5 or 6 years ago. LOL (but true)

Elizabeth-Liz 12-29-2010 03:52 PM

My friend Bonnie and I are taking my Mom to Dallas to see the Dallas Stars and the Vancouver play hockey and staying at the Crown Plaza Market close the the American Airline stadium. We will drive down on New Years Eve and drive back home on New Years day.

morelcabin 12-29-2010 04:46 PM

We used to go to a friends hunt camp with a few other families with all the children and ring in the new year with a barefoot run in the snow around the cabin. But since all the kids have grown older I think it has come to a stop.
And now that we have a new grandbaby I enjoy babysitting her on New Years eve much better than doing anything else :)
I'll probably be in bed at the same time she is...LOL!

Going to a small New year's ever party. We play cards, and Farkle, and Texas HOldum. We each take little gifts to win. Lots of food and drink. We do the hats and streamers too. The last few years I was in a casino in La. but rather do it small this year. LOL. Honestly, I hd rather be here sewing but I have to get out for DH. Happy new year everyone.
