I have a couple of those myself from my grandmother. I also found a couple at an antique store that actually fit inside some old baby bottles. Wow ... the memories. :}

If you didn't get around to ironing right way you put the clothes in the refrigerator so they didn't sour.

Karen, I think you "win!" I don't remember Clorox in brown glass.
My mom sprinkled the ironing and put it in the freezer. She really hated ironing! :D They make a plastic version of these things, now - I use them for watering seedlings, because they don't flood out the tiny plants. The new sprinkler tops screw onto any plastic soda bottle. |

Brings back memories. It was my job to iron and I had to iron Dad's shirts all linens hankerchiefs dresses everything got ironed and I hated doing it! But I so remember using these sprinklers on a pop bottle! Hadn't thought of them in a very long time!!

I remember personally using them.
The dried clothes got sprinkled, rolled up, and allowed to get evenly damp, and then ironed. I remember being so excited when I first got to iron handkerchiefs. I remember being not so excited when I had to iron my little sister's starched dress with the puffed sleeves. |
My mom used hers in a soda bottle. I remember it quite well.
