Oh, boy, does that take me back. We used up put those on empty pop bottles to sprinkle the pillow cases and our uniform shirts and jumpers. I was allowed to have one ( just one) bottle of pepsi as I did the Saturday morning ironing....while watching cartoons. When that was done, I would iron my hair.

Yep! I remember my gram using them....sprinkling the ironing and then rolling the clothes up and putting in a bag to get good and damp, then taking them out to iron them. Wow! Haven't seen them in like, forever! Thanks so much for sharing.

I remember those!! Mom had one that she put on a pop bottle and used to sprinkle clothes before ironing them. I remember when she got a steam iron. She thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread!

I remember my Mom ironing my Dad's white shirts using the sprinkle method.
I too watched her sprinkle the shirts and then roll them up and put them in the ice box.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

yep, used some of those myself when young.

Oh, yes. It was my job to sprinkle the clothes. We used a green ginger ale bottle and a large plastic bag. Those were the good old days???

Everyone is right, back then most of the clothes were make out of cotton. Mom would starch the colthes and if she could not finish them she would roll them up and put them in the refrigerator. The next day she would use her bottle with the sprinkler on top wet it down and iron it.
