Good for you, making a satin dress. Back in 1950, I made mine from lavender eyelet embroidered fabric that cost less than a dollar a yard. She's beautiful - has her momma's smile. My daughter is built like yours and we had a heck of a time finding something "pretty" too. Once it was over I donated the dress the next year to a group that would collect them for those that could not afford a dress at all.
