Well talk about timing! My hubby is looking for a new companion and considering Maltese. So what bad things can you say about them??? if any! I'm sure you can talk all day with all the good things. DH is home bound and need some one to keep him company during the day. Our cats aren't quite social enough. These are cutie patootie babies! you keeping them?

We aren't keeping them. :-( We have two already and that's about all I can handle. The grooming time is very long even though I keep their hair a bit short. The female puppy already has a new owner in Baton Rouge. The boy pup may also have an owner--the lady hasn't gotten back to me but said she's seriously considering. In the meantime, I'm having a blast watching them grow and learn. They are at the perfect stage for playing.
There aren't many bad habits. We didn't train our male very well and he marks the furniture pretty badly. They do yap loudly when "intruders" come for a visit, but that can be a good thing if you need a watchdog. One has a happy, busy, curious personality, the other has a laid-back, sit in my lap all day personality. So I guess you just have the luck of the draw unless you get an older pup and the owner can tell you about him/her. We take very good care of our pets, that can get rather expensive, but it's part of ownership. The little dogs do break easily....several people we know have hurt their small dogs by stepping on them, but that's not just Maltese. Good luck finding a companion for your husband. I do recommend Maltese, but I am a little biased. :-)

OMG! They are toooooooooooo cute! I had a Maltese (good ol Morgan Tunabreath) & he was the doggiest dog I ever had... no frou frou dog there... LOL!! These 2 are precious & make my puppy (10 monthes old & 50+ pounds of Lab/Bassett mix) look like a boat! LOL! Enjoy your babies!

They are adorable, I would love to have a furry little dog again. Chihuahua avatar dog is a short hair, no grooming expense but not cuddly either. My dog is meant to be an only, she becomes aggregsive and jumps all over other small dogs.
