I tead the post about topics being locked, but I went to post pics earlier to read the "how to post them" section and it said LOCKED....I know how to post but was curious about alternate ways. Can anyone tell me why it would say locked?

the only reason I can see is that it is an information page and there is no reason to respond to the post. If you have a question about the information I would say Admin would prefer you to PM it to him/her rather than having a big long post.

Because the topic is an instructional one, it doesn't warrant comments. So, it's locked.

i edited your title to attract more attention to your most important question. we have many very clever members here. i'll be some of them jump in to offer lots of suggestions.

i'm useless on the subject, i'm afraid. i know only the traditional method.

I use photo bucket as a photo hosting site. This way I can post to different discussion boards. Itmallows me to keep photos in one handy place and find them easier. Howeveer, you need to be very aware of the size picture you are making. I believe 600 is the widest admin wants here as it buggers up bandwidth for many. If you have a great deal of photos in one post, it is always a nice courtesy to mention it your title for those who have dial up.

What ever alternative method you use? Make sure it is one that the pictures will always be accessible from.

Ex: if you have pics in photobucket's site, and link to here, then later you remove that pic? we can no longer access it. That is frowned upon  as it disrupts the topic. So make sure that you don't delete the pics in the future :D:D:D
