Question about making a checkbook cover for duplicate checks

I've cut out the plastic from the cheap plastic covers that come with the checks but I now have a thin sheet of plastic that I've folded in thirds--like a /\/ so that part goes over the back of checkbook cover and part behind the checks and and part goes between checks
