I don't really understand what the virtual section is and why is there a bar at the top of topics asking me if I want to put it in the virtual section.

Can someone explain this to me?

    TIA!

if YOU want to keep certain posts together, you make your own virtual section, it only does it for you, like your own filing system ;)

You can only do your own posts like that, though, right?

I think I had a different idea of what it does. I tried to put posts on it, and it won't let me, but they weren't my posts. So thats why, right?

Well...that Virtual Section button appears at the top of every post that I open...

so that sounds to me like I can put anybodies post in my virtual section.

But when I go to the "Virtual Section" I see all kinds of posts there by other people...so why are their posts in *my* virtual section????

    I don't understand...

You cannot set up a virtual topic without Admin's approval.

Some virtual topics can be added to by any member, others only by the person managing that topic.

You can only add your topics, the only person who can add someone else's is the person managing that particular topic.

Example: If you are making a miniature quilt, and you want it added to that topic in the virtual section, you can click to add it there. If that virtual section is set up so only a manager can add to it, PM the manager and send a like to your topic, and he/she will add it for you.

If you come across a topic that you think should be added to a virtual topic, you can PM the person who is managing that virtual topic, give them the link and they can add it.

Virtual Sections are not specific to each individual member.

They are simply collections of related topics that make it easier for us to find things that have been posted over a period of time about the same thing or category of thing.

Only Admin and Moderators can create Virtual Sections.

    Read more about them here:
