    Keeping the skirt as is will be a testament to your mother's memory and the love of sewing that she tried to instill in you. For me personally, I would keep it as is.

    Your story touched me deeply. You could have been describing my Mom. She taught me so much more than just sewing. There always seemed to be little life lessons in every project. Patience being a common thread. I miss her terribly and think of her often when I am sewing. I don't think I could cut the skirt up. I have a problem letting things like that go.

    I think I'm going to leave the skirt as it is for now. I will look and find another nice piece of wool. It won't be hard. I'm still not ready to let it go. I'm ok with that.
