Kathryn, you think like I do regarding weapons. Just be sure and shoot straight into air or straight into ground. Don't want someone to say you were shooting at them or pointing a gun at them (lol). We don't want to have to get you out of jail, so you can post here (lol).
Prayers are continuing for everyone that was affected by Sandy. Hugs

Nellie is a cutie. I've always wanted a bull dog. Praying for everyone affected by Sandy. I've been without power before due to ice storms and straight line winds. The winds took out power out in July one time. I would rather it take it out during the winter. We can moved to the deer camp for wood heat. I just can't handle the 100+ temps anymore.

Nellie is precious. Of course, being from GA, and our university mascot being a bulldog name UGA, I'm not prejudiced or anything. Hope everything gets back to normal for you soon. In the meantime, you have an adorable companion.

Oh, my, Nellie is so adorable!! My daughter wants an English Bulldog so badly, but has an elderly Bassett who would be devastated if he had to share affection with a pup.
I'm so sorry for all of you "Sandy" victims. Being without our creature comforts is no fun. As to the looters, I will never understand the mentality of someone who kicks another person when they are down. Their energy could be put to helping others. I'll never understand evil. I'm with Kathryn on the gun thing. If I lived in a city I would definitely have one.
Stay safe.

I am so sorry. yes, After any disaster, there are looters, unfortunately. I hope you have your cell phones charged. The police should be blocking off areas that are damaged so these people can't get through by car.
I went through it but only waited 5 miserable days & nights. I had every warm hat, coat and sweater on that could fit over several layers. I also had piled on many blankets i could find. I pray you stay well and they get the elec. going for you today. God Bless you.

You have a great attitude.. I am tired of the situation. I have electric, cable, but no heat, or hot water. I have my mom, brother, sister inlaw, and the two kids hanging out, off, and on with me, as they have no electric etc.. They are close to a sub station that is rebuilding.. As for the dogs.. My guy is freezing his behind off, and the doodle is enjoying the cold. Now we are being warned about the looters coming through our area, as a lot of people left their houses

We are making progress with the repairs. I have everything at home. Mom is up, and running.. She even waited on line for gas.. I have house guests as my brother, and his family still don't have anything.. They are piled in here with their 85 lb. doodle.. a college kid with mental issues, and a teenage girl who is in a panic over college applications... All her friends are going to Israel next year, and my brother wants her to veer from her comfort zone.. My office is another story. I have one that is up, and running, and the other that has no electric, and they don't know when it will happen.. The looters are a big problem.. My office that is in the scocioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhood that has a big problem with looting, and rioting.. My secretary says that some of the people are hungry. They have no money, and the EBT cards aren't working, and they are miserable.. I have to get over to get the mail.. If there is any.. Since we are in family practice, the people that don't know our office think we have major drugs, but anyone that does, will realize we don't prescribe any narcotics.. hence.. We have bars on our windows..

My home/family has survived three tornadoe strikes on our home. I COMPLETELY understand your misery, but I would suggest making lemonade out of lemons. We used our time to help friends who suffered a greater loss than us and found ourselves talking and enjoying each others company more since we had no television to compete for our time. We created some wonderful family memories!

Okay, so we are having a snow storm that is about 6" and there are more trees down. We have one office that has no electric, and it's not a good situation. it's in an area that is being looted, etc. Some of the pharmacies are closed, and we are having a problem with patients running out of meds. Some of the patients Rx's are in the computer, but others we have to go by the bottles the patients are taking to other pharmacies. I am very grateful that I have everything back. As for having quality time.. I'm really laughing.. Imagine having six adults with six computers in your house.. Even my 84 yo mom. I can see my brother, and sister inlaw getting worn down with the lack of power in their house. They aren't going to get power back until their house is inspected by LIPA, as there are houses on their block that got flooded. My lab tech has a big problem as her basement was flooded, and their circuits are in the basement, and they were covered in water.. I came up with an idea to take my staff out, and hang out for an evening.. I guess this too shall pass..
