My friend told me she stopped by the other day to get some notions using the coupon. Apparently our local Joann's doesn't believe the cutting mats are quilting notions!!!!!! I said she should have called the manager into the conversation!

Great deal! I went to Jo-Ann's today too - Debbie Mumm fabric, interfacing by the yard (I needed iron on pellon) and thinsulate was all 50% off and then I had my 25% off coupon. For a few of the Debbie Mumm fabrics the girl at the counter gave me the rest of the bolt (if it was less than a yard) for the remnant price. One of those pieces was 35" ($1.73 a yard)! I also picked up a cute 1 1/2 yard polar fleece remnant that was 14.98 originally, but fleece was 50% off, and it was a remnant so it was another 50% off - adding in the 25% coupon I got it for $2.80! It was a pattern I was looking at buying and then saw in the remnant bin.

Yes, she should have. She should go back and try again, and if necessary ask to speak to a manager. Cutting mats fall under Notions, Rotary Mats category for sewing and quilting. There are also mats used for scrapbooking now, but they were first used for sewing.

If they're not a notion, what would they be? The person was probably told by a clerk who doesn't even sew.
