So Cute............I Love Raggedy Ann & Andy. I used to make them in every size. I have a set of Porcelain Ann & Andy from Danberry Mint I bought over 15 years ago.

I'm a child of the 70's and my grandma used to make them for my sisters and me. We slept with them and dragged them all around the farm playing with us. When they would wear out from washings, she would tell us to bring us the doll so she could repair it. Usually, she just replaced it with another and we went happily on our way. After she passed away when I was in my 20's I made a set, which went to my girls as they were born. My youngest is 12 and her Annie still makes the rotation of sleeping with her. (she trades off between Annie and a bunny...)

I received a Raggedy Ann doll as a wedding gift just like yours. I was a bit perplexed when I opened the gift since I was not pregnant and we did not have any children. I have kept that doll sitting on a toy chest for 41 years. She is a bit (very) dusty and needs to be cleaned. Our oldest daughter called her "Aggedy Ran" (at 2 years old she just couldn't say it correctly) and that name has stuck over the years. Helpful ways to wash/clean her up???

I would put your raggedy Ann in a pillow case, secure with a non-metal, ponytail holder, and wash in washing machine on gentle cycle, with a mild detergent. You can hang her up on a hanger in a good breeze to dry which will take a couple hours. (The dryer can be very destructive to home made doll hair made from yarn.)

What an amazing treasure. I made a set with Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy for my children when they were in grade school, however, they didn't survive the time my DH was fixing a plumbing problem and the main water line to the house let go. My son was very upset about it, so I intend to make his daughter, our only grandchild a set, for Christmas this year, and hope she loves it.
