Christmas Greetings
Have not been posting for awhile. November we had to put Mom in a nursing home because of a fractured hip. Then we drove to Michigan because we had purchased our retirement home/land there and needed to do some cleaning and such to get it ready for renting until DH retires - 2 1/2 years and counting. December came and Mom wasn't doing well. Drastic weight loss, trouble chewing, etc. Then on Monday of this week went to see her. She hasn't shown any sign of recognition of me for some time, but read her Christmas cards that I had received for her. Told her "I Love You" and cried as I left. Friend asked me to go with her to Fargo - about 3 hours from here - on Tuesday for shopping. I would get to see our DD and depending on weather maybe stay overnight. Got the call Mom wasn't doing well during the afternoon. They were giving her oxygen because they were sure she had asperated. Got the call during the night that she had passed away in her sleep. Thank you Lord for watching out for all of us. I had the strong arms of DD and she was wrapped in Jesus' arms. Going to be a quiet Christmas but that's okay.
Blessing going out to all of you. May your Christmas be bright with HIS love.

Yesterday was the 26th anniversary of my mom's passing -- I know how hard it is to see them go, but how relieved I was that she was past her pain and suffering.
Celebrate her life along with the birth of Christ this Christmas ... I'm sure she would like that you remember her during the happy times of years past.

Di, I am so sorry about the loss of your mother. It is never easy, but especially difficult during the holiday season. There is nothing that I can say to make you feel better, so I will just send you lots of love and cyber hugs. May she rest in peace.

I just had to share this with you. I don't know if I have permission to say who it was, but one of our wonderful QB members drove down from ... well, a state that is north of here ... and brought me a Janome Memory Craft 6500 Professional Sewing Machine. It is a machine made in heaven -- and so is this warm and wonderful woman and the friend who came along with her. They also brought boxes of other goodies that I really, really need - rulers, all sorts of cutting tools, thread, fabric and so much more -- and a zillion quilting magazines -- which I really miss since all of my quilting magazines and books were lost in the mud. They wouldn't even let me take them out to lunch! The women on this board are the most kind hearted, loving and generous people I could ever imagine -- and I am so incredibly touched. I do hope she lets me identify her. She is a wonderful angel. Oh! And to top everything off, I showed her two quilt tops I rescued from the muck and she took them with her to quilt on her long arm! How insanely wonderful is that? I may not have a house anymore, but God has blessed me with wonderful friends.
