QBeth, it was the opposite. One buyer asked for a way to add to "good history" of a seller.

This is not ebay. If I wanted ratings I would go to ebay. I think they are unnecessary and would hate it.

Well, that's encouraging! And, fits with my impression of this board. Very good.

Thanks for an intereating read! I am comforted that this is not something ELSE I need to worry about if I decide to participate in a swap. I think there are some very good ideas of alternate ways to handle what might be a perceived rather than actual problem.

Glad that can of worms stayed closed! But it sure shouldn't stop someone from posting a glowing compliment for something they received. We're all about the smiles and encouragement.

I think this may open a can of worms and we may lose some members if things got out of hand.

    Sorry, just my opinion.

I am so glad you are not going with this idea, I got exhausted just reading about it lol. I dont buy or sell anything, so it doesnt matter to me...but I would feel sorry for administration.

Also, sometimes with swaps things go wrong through no fault of the person involved - life gets in the way and I'd hate to see someone bad mouthed for not delivering when they had an as yet undisclosed valid reason for the tardiness. An apology could be issued of course but mud sticks as they say. :hunf:

    If I were you, I wouldn't. :-)
I agree with this. It's happened to me before elsewhere.

i love this idea! i have had a fairly good experience swapping and such but...there is always that one who doesn't take their swaps seriously and ruins it for other ppl. i'm not saying we have to leave negative comments but for those of us who swap and do so diligently, this would make us all accountable for turning in our swaps and exchanges. i think it would make all users MORE honest. most of the users and swapppers here are very honest but like i've said there is always that one bad apple that ruins it for others!! instead of a system that you leave comments on, you just give stars to. i don't think we need to get petty here and start leaving bad comments, and i don't think that we need to rate our packages, just if we received them or not. i don't think the quality or workmanship is the issue, it's the receiving of items as promised. i also think that most ppl appreciate what they receive they just WANT to receive it!!!
    Just my 2 cents!
