I do both but gave up the crochet for knitting as I love the look of a knitted something much better, especially socks. I am fairly new to knitting but can trudge along and get the project done.

I can do both, but prefer quilting/sewing on the machine because it's faster.
My hand starts to hurt if I crochet more than 1 hour.

Love to do both...crochet the most. Not to be a downer, but I have permanent A-fib...always out of rhythm...but love to do the needlework anyway.

I crochet like a whiz but struggle to knit, don't really like it since it takes s-o-o-o long to finish. I have been able to crochet a baby afghan, start to finish, in three days. That's not crocheting every waking moment, but it was working with a vengence. I learned when I was 10, did some when I was in my teens, but turned to it for comfort after my mom died nearly 20 years ago. It has been a saving grace for me and a true therapeutic endeavor. As long as my hands are able, I'll be crocheting. It's so portable & I also can crochet by feel when I am doing a pattern that is an old standby. :-)

My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 12 yrs old. That was 36 yrs ago. See also tried to teach me to knit but it never stayed with me. But I'm the only one in the family that has inherited My grandmothers talents.

As calming as knitting is that is what quilting does to me too.

I can knit and crochet but find crocheting much easier and faster. When my girls were small I knitted one a skirt with straps and the other a hooded poncho with ducks knitted in. I have also knitted a few other things but a friend tried to teach me to knit socks. I got one made and that was the end of that. I have crocheted many things. Back in the 70s I worked for a handcraft club where I crocheted ponchos capes and many other things. I have crocheted many sweaters over the years. I find crocheting more relaxing and more satisfying as I see completed projects faster. I do like to knit, as well as crochet, hats and scarves. I also like to embroider and paint besides my passion for quilting. There just are not enough hours in the day.

I can crochet, but don't, can't knit and don't think I will ever try to learn....darning socks is my relaxation!
