Check with your local Goodwill if you have them. Ours takes in "junk" clothing and sells them to a company that recycles them into rags. The clothing can be in any condition.

our vet is always grateful when I take him towels-he goes thru alot of them. We live in a small town so he is a big and small animal vet, and uses bath and hand towels all the time.

I've heard that most places like Goodwill sell unusable clothing, so it might be worth it to check it out. May in Jersey

If anyone wants to get really artsy (OK, I volunteered to do this with one of my children's science class with the help of an art teacher because I would never have thought of it on my own. Way too creative). Use the old cotton clothing to make rag paper. I can't remember exactly what we did anymore other than we used my blenders (I was given three of the cheap suckers for wedding presents. After 15 years, it was about time they were used and a great way to get a pretty new one :P ) I'm sure there are a lot of variations on this available out there in cyberland.
