Removing dog smell from blanket

Oh gosh. Do you really love the blanket? If so, have it professionally cleaned.
If you just like it and it wouldn't crush your world, put it in a tub of cold water and let it soak using your favorite shampoo. Yes, you can use conditioner too. Rinse well, drain tub and dance on it to squeeze out excess water. Wrap it in a dry towel and dance on it some more. Hang or lay out where it gets air circulating from all angles.
Or, avoid all this and just "felt" it in your washer and dryer for future applique projects. Good luck!
