make sure you micro-wave it on a regular basis...no bugs   I have a big square one for a foot warmer..... My grandkids like to hug them after sliding ...I don't know why but they provide moist heat...which is not so messy as warm cloths

They last a long time and are very comfortable.

I have mine out and using them regularly :D:D:D
Big, small, tubes, you can custom make them for different areas of your body. Heat a larger one and toss it at the foot of your bed (or a couple in a line) under the covers and have a toasty warm bed to crawl into :D:D:D
Mine get microwaved regularly and I have never had a critter problem with the rice

Funny you should mention this, I'm making several today for gifts for my MIL neighbors. They've invited me to their "Girls Holiday Party". I make mine about 4" wide (finished) by WOF with a 45 degree angle at the ends so it looks like a scarf when draped around then neck. I also sew channels across about 3 1/2" apart to keep the rice from bunching up. I've already made several as gifts for people and they always are appreciative. Thanks for the heads up on the flannel though, I was going to try making some from flannel and didn't even think about it having a problem in the microwave.
