My husband met a princess from Thailand on a vacation trip in Colorado, leaving out of Denver in the early 70's. They were in a 12 passenger tour van.{6 in DH family} They stopped at a place to eat along the way, and my husband ordered a hot dog. She told him she would like to try one, it seemed to be a popular American food. She didn't like it.

I met Chuck Liddell (UFC Champ) a couple of times. (he's from San Luis Obispo, CA a few miles from where I live so I have run into him in Starbucks and the grocery store.)
I met Wanderlei Silva (another UFC champ)at the grocery store in my home town.

Hi Guys,
Before Emma was born I worked for one of the UK's national broadcasters..... I met many famous people..... some nice some not so nice ... my personal favourites were
Diana Ross... she sat with my older daughter and did colouring in for about 20 minutes (she was in full stage dress at the time)..
Tony Curtis (what a guy)! Had a full head of hair even though he must have been at least 70 when I met him.
Take That.... really lovely to my two children.
Lighthouse family.... what lovely polite people.
Pearce (sp) Brosnan - all I can say is Phew!
it seemed the bigger the star the nicer they seemed.
Hugs
Caroline

I lived in Aspen/Basalt Colorado in the late sixties, early seventies. My mama was a nurse at Aspen Valley Hospital, and I would go to work with her...would wander the town and hang out in the hospital waiting for her to get off work.
Lucille Ball broke her leg skiing...was in the hospital for six weeks. Mom was one of her private nurses. I have a ring that Lucille bought for my mom...turquoise and silver.
Aspen was the place to be in that era...James Arness (Matt Dillon of Gunsmoke) Phyllis Diller, Sonny and Cher, John Denver, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Liz Taylor, John Wayne, Kate Hepburn, too many to remember or name... it got to be old hat to see a celeb...and no one paid them much attention at the time..unless they were tourists.
In later years, Robert Wagner and Susan St. James stopped at the little drive in burger joint that I cooked at...cooked them burgers. Still had my "old Aspen" attitude tho, and wasn't terribly impressed...they had to eat just like the rest of us...
Return to Lonesome Dove was partially filmed in the area of Montana that I lived in...some of it on a friend's ranch less than 5 miles from my home. Ricky Schroeder learned not to mess with cowboys in a bar in Virginia City, Montana...took quite a bit of makeup and some creative filming to keep that black eye from showing!
Daniel Baldwin and his wife played the machines in my little Montana casino one evening...

George Harrison. I was working in a Jazz Club, and Taj Mahal was playing, and there he was. I was the cocktail watiress, so I asked him if he wanted a drink. He ordered, and when I took it to him, he said I don't have any australian money. I said "Typical tightas*d Northerner - I'm married to one of you lot and I know all your tricks!" He laughed, and I kept him supplied with drinks all night. We talked and laughed - he was lovely. My boss told me to leave him alone - he doesn't want to be bothered, but I figured so sack me! Didn't get a signature or a photo.

Not at all what I expected. Was always a fan but after meeting him most definately a huge fan now. Great guy!
