I got a second hand Wii game system, and hooked it up to my television through my free wifi, so we get youtube, and the Netflix that we subscribe to. My DD and I share a subscription to Netflix, so it costs very little.

hm I didn't know the wii could get youtube. I'll have to check into that. We're going to put our wii in the basement where there is ethernet for the internet. My plan is to watch shows while I walk on the treadmill down there.

I just bought a roku 3. I'm amazed at how much is out there. Has anyone had any difficulty getting rid of the "free" trials of various channels? I don't want to wake up one morning subscribed to a bunch of stuff I don't want. Also, how difficult was it to break the apron strings to your cable - especially not having HGTV (my husband loves it!!!)

If you don't have a subscription cable service for HBO you can't get HBO streaming. Probably the same for other premium movie channels. Comcast cannot block wireless streaming through Roku, only the paid premium channels if you use Comcast as your tv cable. I don't have a problem with cancelling a free trial. It shows a cancel this channel selection and that's all I do. It's in the channels section. We kept our digital cable service. Roku is just extra.

Yep -- my DH has Roku on the LR TV He says he doesn't watch much TV, and got it for the grand kids to watch their kid shows, but he watches it all the time. I could care less really.

We have 2...1 for the bedroom and 1 for my quilting studio. We also subscribe to Hulu and Netflix and watch them more than cable tv.
