I got some last week when they were on sale for $1.49. They work wonderfully. I plan on purchasing lots more tomorrow even if they are 1.99 cause you can't beat that price. I am going to check to see if they have carpet cutters for anything bigger then the 45. I will let everyone know.

I do think the $4.99 price was wrong.

I found them on my own.

They are : "Replacement Carpet Cutter Blades", Item # 97642. they came 2 to a package for $1.49,plus tax. I haven't opened them yet. Keep in mind they are for the smaller of the rotary cutters..don't know numbers, but I do know they won't fit in my larger cutter.
    They are for the 45mm.

I ordered them on line from Harbor Freight. 2 for $1.49. I could not find themm in our local Harbor Freight. Postage wasn't too high and I ordered 8 so should last me a while. I haven't tried them yet but they look just like the ones I buy at Joann's. Good luck girls.

They are in the carpet cutting section, I have used them since Oct, and never had to change the blade on mine, and have made 7 quilts using the same blade. I believe that there at 3 in a package for $3.00. What a huge savings, so you can spend the difference on fabric, yay...

You can call Harbor Freight at 800-423-2567 and ask for item #97642. I believe they still have them on sale for $1.49 a package. I ordered 15 packages and the postage was a little over $2.00. Hope this helps.

FYI: According to what my Friend told me,who owns a LQS here in our area, when you hear your blade/rotary cutter making the clicking noise, there is something wrong with your rotary cutter and not the blade... this was what her olfa rep told her...I am not sure but she also said it may be the mat as well..just sharing this so if you are still hearing the clicking and you put in a new blade, check to tool as well...

I have never had a blade making a clicking sound! It would make me think the blade is loose. Making sure your mat is clean is very important.

I have used these ever since first reading about them on the board I think I had one that seemed to not last as long as the others, but at that price I can afford to replace them more often once in a while. A price of $4.99 might be for the package with the carpet cutter tool and extra blade. Those aren't the ones you want. Also, I have read where sometimes they stick together when you take them out of the package. If you put 2 of them in the rotary cutter, they won't work correctly.
