I need help. This bargello is 58 x 76. It looks pretty good on Joshs bed size-wize, but I think I want another 8-12" all around. (His bed is a super-twin waterbed.)

The only fabric from the top I wanna use in the border is the dark purple. I don't have enough of the black, so I am using a solid black. I do not want the border to pull the eye from the bargello flow.

    What do you think?
    beautiful. love the black border.

 BARES. I'm repeating myself, but it's true nothing succeeds like success. A good day today makes it easier to have a good day tomorrow and the next.

Today for me - Food okay, but exercise  I was on the way the doctor at 2:30 so no TV. We had heavy rain this morning and such heavy fog this evening that I stayed in both times. We don't have sidewalks and I've been a hood ornament in Las Vegas. Nothing I care to ever repeat. I can't remember the last day I had no walks - maybe last Winter when it was super icy.

I am losing weight and getting healthier.

I hope everyone who hasn't posted wasn't here because they were having so much fun. I also hope everyone had a clean eating day. My little crustless pumpkin pie was wonderful. Now I have muffins for breakfast this week. My favorite food plan has carbs like that only before lunch. Dinner was a grilled burger wrapped in lettuce with some non starchy vegetables.

Hello Ladies!I been really busy doing things around the homestead that were just too blazing hot to do this summer so am behind. And a leak sprouted yesterday on my water pressure tank to my well.So found a internet site that said to put in a rubber washer and a self tapping screw,so that's what I did {after I drained it of course}wouldn't want that big of a granade going off at my head after all.And it worked like a charm.YEAH!So,that's the kind of things I been up to lately.Oh,and helping the old lady down the road. She tore off her oven door when we were over there, and she couldn't believe I fixed it in 2 minutes.I mean it was just 2 screws after all.No biggy. But for her it was.Anyway,Me and nancia have met the 5 pound challenge already.I'm assuming others have too.So lets keep it off,and we'll do another one next month. If some one else wants to make a challenge, that's great too.Just so we keep going. But it has to be a realistic one.One that we can meet.I liked irishroses challenge of the 2 pounds. And mine for the 5 pounds. If we meet them every month,we'll make head way.Well,I didn't do the juice drinks. As I am a meat and potatoes gal.I have come to the realization after pondering the vegan way, that it is just not for me.I sure gave it a good thought tho.Oh well.I'm healthy as a horse cause I do eat a variety of raw and cooked foods. We all do really, cause we all eat green salads and fruits and veggies at times.Even my salsa is good!Ok,well lets keep it up.And I'm back so I'll be watching and posting more.Nancia, good job!we'll be going into the winter with a good start ahead of the holidays.Watch the candy everybody.Halloween is upon us.I wouldn't want the gremlins to win.Slap those hands back, and say no to yourselves.Ok,let's get to going so we can get er done.

xylie-- where were you yesterday??? i had a very bad hit and run with a box of milk duds. there were no survivors. the majority are now buried on my hips. visiting hrs are whenever.today was only marginally better as i had a lot of work to do on a doll quilt. i'm pretty excited about it! our theme is black and white with a splash. immediately i thought of calla lilies, so my black quilt has a calla lily with green stem and leaf and a sparkly gold callyx. if i remember, i'll do a pic before i mail it, usually i do forget. i have a nearly terminal case of CRS. no cure known (Can't Remember Stuff). i forget what the dr said to do. what are we talking about?? tomorrow i start my quilty project for a partner that lives in florida. guess i shouldn't make anything too heavy.
gosh darn it, i am losing weight. i am in control. it is up to me!

bares- i think you are going to do very well this time! awareness and a desire to succeed keep most of us out of the halloween candy! i'm not even buying any. i always feel so sorry for the leftovers i eat them. seriously, my dh gets stuff that neither of us like. i prefer to give cheap plastic spider rings, i can't eat them, altho' their little legs are a bit like barbie feet and i always liked chewing those, remember? did you chew barbie's hands and feet? i never saw a barbie that had hands and feet until i was grown up. somehow they look unnatural.

I can surely relate! How many times have I been eating good ...fattening...food & thinking "I need to cut back"....but didn't stop me from finishing the food.Sometimes I wonder where my head is.It's a struggle to finally decide on getting started,a struggle to buy healthy food & cook the healthier way. Some days it just all falls in place & other times,I'd as leave toss it all & hit the good stuff!
I keep reminding myself,I already had more than my share of fattening food & have the hips to prove it.......for me,it's way past time to stay serious about changing my eating style.
Sounds like you're on your way & congrats to you.We can do it, will do it & a pat on the back to all who had a good day/or planning one.

"quote"I have said that I am struggling just get started. Well today I CHOSE to write down what I was putting in my mouth. I even made healthy choices. I had a snack of an orange rather than a small bag of cookies. YEA for me. And I credit you guys for reminding me to take baby steps, not criticizing me for not doing more and your interaction with each other. THANK YOU! I decided that I would do what I could this morning and if I didn't do as well for dinner then I could still be aware and it was okay. So dinner wasn't completely right, but it was much better than it normally would have been. I CAN do this!

I am going to make menus as someone had suggested. I have a couple of other things that will help with planning. Once I actually implement them, my next set of menus will be a bit easier. I think. At least I am moving in the right direction.

    Good morning everyone!

createfourpaws - sorry to hear your ill. I had pnemonis last fall and was down for two months. Follow Dr orders and know that we are praying for you.

BARES congratulations for good choices. The whole menu thing will get much earier as you do it. Remember you can do this one day at a time. There's been days that I've taken it one minute at a time. Do what you need to do to make it work and remeber we are all here for you.

Food went well yesterday as did exercise. I plan to make today a good day also.

I can do this One Day at a time!

I haven't made even 2 pounds off so far this month -- we have had visitors and social commitments that put me off my stride. So now I have to do a little more good watching on what I eat in the evenings. I love pretzels -- but I think the salt is adding to my weight even tho the calorie count is small. I cleaned shelves in the bookcases yesterday and found a pedometer that really works. I snapped it on my belt and found that I had walked 1 1/2 miles just puttering around. So I felt better about that.

Today it is raining so I will do some handquilting. I got my FQ swap siggys drawn yesterday so they are ready to mail.

I try to do as much buying at our tiny post office here (even the christmas card stamps) so they will be able to stay open. The volume of mail doesn't count -- just the money they take in that keeps them open.

Sorry to ramble on. -- Mim

No one on this thread has said anything to offend me and if I felt I needed to say anything I would try to do it in PM. I have had things said to me in PM that, lets just say, discouraged posting. I want to be able to give encouragement and support and recieve it as well. I really appreciate all the responses and it helped me learn some things too.

Well said!!!! I think we all have had things said to us that make us wonder but I need to remind myself that I can't hear their voice and maybe they are joking or maybe they just had a bad day. As for small steps...yay you!!!!! Every step counts!
