About 10 or 12 (could have been more) years ago I went to a home party where they had swimsuits, forget the name now. But right there we could try on the suits, and I startled the seller by wanting (and buying) a two piecer, (was it my age? I was less than 70 or so then) the top fit much better on my old one and that one too. And I'm not a delicate, fragile little thing either. That suit lasted a lot of years and even was nice for sunning in the back yard.
So could your friend wear a single bra top suit with a bottom panty type or skirt bottom?

I bought one from Lands End this year and am on the fence about it. Pros: I modeled it for my kids and a neighbor and got positive reviews from all. The top and bottom are sold separately, so I can get the correct size. Cons: In the upper half of the suit, there's a so-called shelf with elastic, but it does not support at all. The bottom half is a skort; bike shorts with a skirt over them. The waist is too big and the hem at the legs is too tight. Overall I'm not unhappy, but if you're bigger than a C (which is my size), you might want to keep looking.

I just think it would be *so* much easier to purchase a suit with an underwire bra than to try to make one. There are so many pitfalls in making a swimsuit!
Thanks for the links!
