If you can afford it, fix it and use it as your back up.

The feet will interchange with the new 830. That machine is very expensive tho. I have a 440 QE and a 200 upgraded to a 730. I love my 440 but have yet to play with the one my friend gave me to sell for her. I am going to post it on ebay soon tho.
I would go for another Bernina and keep my older model as a back up. That way you will have a good one as well as a memorable one.

Thanks to everyone's input and advise. I went to Topeka today and picked my 200E up that was being repaired. The owner and the service department people told me that the number of stitches and hours sewn on it was a record for their shop. Although some people use their 200 commerically and have more, this was a record for their shop. LOL Since I was told it would need a new motor soon and that the bobbin thing-a-ma-jig was allowing it to overfill, I thought I should make a decision about a new one or putting more and more money into this one. After looking and pricing and such, I think I will keep my 200E as a backup- try to sell my 1530 and Horn cabinet -- and buy the 830E and a cabinet to fit. First concern is that I must do some measuring and such to make sure the 830 cabinet will fit in my little sewing room. I may need to put my serger somewhere else since I use it rarely after getting into quilting. SSSOOOO that is my story /decision as of now anyway. Sue

Sue, you really stuck a chord with me when you said your Dad bought it for you. I still have my first machine from my Dad and I won't part with it for anything.
But it's a back-up now. As long as you keep it that's what really matters :D
    Hugs, Sue
