Thanks for all the great ideas...it's just been a real challenge since I became self-employed. I started taking a day off during the week, so that I could quilt, paint, write, bead, contemplate my naval, etc...Unfortunately, my family seems to see this as additional time on my hands to take care of them. And, this morning, was the straw that broke the camel's back. I really don't mind sharing space, I do like hanging out with them. It is the feeling of disrespect for my time and space. Which really means that I need to retrain them. Hopefully I will still have some hair left when I'm done LOL PS They don't touch my scissors, or my rotary cutters!

Remember the tv show "WKRP in Cincinnati"?? Why not take the Les Nessman approach. He wanted an office with walls (not an option in a bullpen set-up) so he used masking tape on the floor to mark his "territory"! He even insisted that people knock on his imaginary door when they wanted to talk to him. Loved that show.

Hubby doesn't have many hobbies except maybe golf, so I'm pretty lucky in that aspect. He does once in a while try to get to my machine to sew a patch on his uniform <gasp!>, but I always stop him

You said you have an office in the spare bedroom..can you move your stuff in there? I used to blame the kids for leaving things all over the house..and when they were all moved, out,it still gets that way..! so joe and i must be as bad as the kids!
i have a sewing room, but i still manage to bring out my travel machine and sewing in the kitchen/living room..(it is one room, we took the wall out years ago)
i am so lucky, my husband never complains about my sewing items being everywhere..course, i threatened to burn down his garage one year..that could be why he won't tick off the red head! ;)
