shredded jeans
I don't know why it happens but I would love to get rid of the shreds on my son's jeans and stop them from coming back. I have some of the fabric fray solution would that do the trick? Thanks for any advice.

First check that he hasn't been working to get them that way for a fashion statement. I have never found anything that doesn't look like a mend myself. I have tried sewing a narrow seam in the back, laying a piece of matching material behind it and using the mending stitch with matching thread and putting a decorative patch but you can tell they were mended. You could fuse a piece of matching fabric behind the tear to keep it from getting worse.

This reminds me of that pair of Guess jeans I bought for my little sister one day.
It had some holes in it (fashion) but it was too long for her. So she took it to
a "tailor" to have it hemmed. Well the nice old guy thought he should mend
the holes. My sister was so mad that he fixed those holes...she cried. LOL
So, my advice would be to not fix any fraying unless he asks you to.
