    Default Shrinking bamboo clothing...on purpose

I have a new bamboo sweater that is a bit too big and I see after doing a bit of looking online that it will shrink a bit if washed in hot water. I want it to shrink but I don't want it to be all distorted. Has anyone ever shrunk a piece of bamboo clothing by mistake or on purpose and did it just end up smaller, or all distorted?

My experience with other rayon fabrics has been that it shrinks unevenly, so I wouldn't try it.
