I have had a Sweet 16 for a little over 5 years. While looking for quilting machines, I found I just didn't like a long arm; there was something so tactile in maneuvering the fabric. They are pretty bullet proof. You need to learn how to adjust tension, but there are a number of videos for that if you don't have a good dealer or buy it used. The stitch regulator wasn't available when I bought mine, and I really haven't missed it.

Test drove the sweet 16 sit down again and also the long arm version. Like the sit down much better. Also don't see the need for the stitch regulator. Have been FMQing on my domestic for so long that a regulator isn't necessary. I also tested a Phaff sit down machine. Did not like it as much as the 16. Will be heading to Pocatello to see what is available there and test some other machines before making up my mind, but as of now I am pretty sure it will be the 16. Thanks for all your info on this subject. You guys are awesome.
