Everything listed above. At 71 my priorities have shifted ~ considerably. Being with family and friends takes priority over a spotless house, perfect hair and make up. I earned everyone of my wrinkles and am proud each one of them. Try not to take myself too seriously. Keep 3 sizes of clothes in my closet because I never know where all my parts are going to land when I get out of bed each morning. Laugh more, walk, ride a bicycle, sing off key. My one regret is not having a camera when I told my family one of the items on my bucket list is to make a tandem airplane jump with my grandson. The look on their faces was priceless.
Bear, I do not know how you come up with these questions but please keep them coming. They make our day. Thank you!

I can sit in my living room or family room and enjoy watching the beautiful snow fall instead of dreading the drive to work over snow and ice covered roads.

I can curl up my easy chair and spend the day reading or quilting hour after hour not once looking at the clock because I have to be somewhere

I can eat lunch at 3:00p and supper at 9:00p if I choose.

Instead of looking forward to Saturday and Sunday each week and packing it full of things I want to (or have to!) do, now every day is Saturday and Sunday!

My old eyes can look at nature with the wonder of a child.

Did I look forward to retirement? YES! Did I enjoy it when I got there? NO! It took me years to learn how to relax.

I think that whether or not you enjoy it is definitely contingent upon your financial situation, your health status, whether you live alone or contnue to have to consider the likes, dislikes, needs of others.

Hahahahaha I'm rolling laughing. Your Dr has a great sense of humor. Hope it didn't offend you.

You're alive. If you're really lucky, you also have grandchildren.

And if one is really lucky, one is healthy - mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Yea, getting older gives you a better sense of who you are. You feel that you have earned the right to do what you want, whenever you want. You learn not to be so egotistical, that it is not all about you. My wrinkles are my proof that I have seen life. And best of all, I don't have to answer to anyone.

I love it when preteen and teen kids open doors for me and offer to help me. Now I don't need the help but they don't know it and I think it's cool that there are still some great kids around and great parents teaching them. I always am sure to thank them and tell them how kind and courteous they are. I also tell the parents thank you if they are there.
