Someone tell me I'm crazy!

No you are not crazy at all!
Having said that, most of the animals that have ended up in our home since DH and I met over 15 years ago have all ended up preferring him, even when I was the adopter and sometimes even before I met him. (Sorry if that was long, I'm working on my caffeine now)
HOWEVER, I adoted a fraidy cat 6 years ago and she adores me like I've never seen and although she likes my husband, there's no comparison.
Go get another BooBoo! :) And bless you for making a home for one that needs it!

I know how difficult it is to have to put down a pet. I still miss our Moonshadow (pit bull terrier). I say go for it. It hurt so bad to have to let Moonshadow go that we never got another pet. I live vicariously through the Dog Whisperer show.... ;^)

Oh, I know that cats own me and not the other way around. I am the slave to the 2 that are here. They come to me when food dish is empty, when water needs to be refilled. When sink water isn't running slow enough, yada, yada, yada.....I know too well, who owns who. lol
I've always had a cat in my life since I can remember. I can still name all of them too! The list is L O N G ! !
I guess I'll keep looking at the Humane Society's website and hope and pray that the ones that I have fallen in love with online are still there when I get there, OR, they have found their Forever Homes and there is another love of my life waiting for me.

I have a few mottos in this area...
1) All lives should have nine cats!
2) Everything taste better with cat hair in it!
3) Cat hair - don't leave home without it!
4) You've never been truly ignored until you have been ignored by a cat.
My husband has even said that he is not going to leave me any money then he departs this mortal coil, because I'll just end up like the "Crazy Cat Lady" on the Simpsons. I say adopt! You can never have too much kitty love!

Terri...I think that you NEED to have another cat in your life...just like you need to have fabric...shelter cats are the best....
Yesterday, my best friend had to put down her 20 year old KittyBunnkport. He was old and kidneys were failing, thyroid disease, etc. He was not a friendly cat. He basically would give you the kitty finger everyday! He only weighed 4# at the end, but he went out with the same attitude he had everyday on his life, crabby. We sat on the phone for 1/2 hour before she left the house, again before she took him in and then for 1 hour after he was gone. We cried togeather, long distance. She is alone, but she has Fat Elvis and B.W. to make things better....and somewhere down the road a lucky kitty will find it's way into her heart...
Terri, you need another cat! Big Boy needs another playmate! And down the road, in another town, off that pebble in the middle of the ocean, is a lucky kitty that will own you! Susie
