sigh.. I think I am going to lose mine-it froze partially last year .. so I may have to start all over again-I left it out over the summer and one night when we had a freezing rain- forgot to bring it in. So now it sits by the heater vent with love poured into it all the time from the outside. I may after we replace our slider doors with french doors put in a couple of plants to hang from the ceiling and let them bask in the love of the sun, watering and adorement. Then maybe I will have a plant as beautiful as yours (and a gf of mine who has an absolute green thumb!)

It's beautiful! I've never seen one with 2 different flowers. I have 2 standard versions. 1 with the light purple flowers that blooms at Thanksgiving. The other has burgundy flowers and blooms at Christmas. You can alter the blooming time by withholding water. eg I withhold water about a month before the 4th of July, and I can get it to bloom for the 4th.

I water once a week with spring water, no chlorine, and indirect sunlight. That 's it. Don' change the location of the plant, it should have the same sun direction inside and out. This plant is 15+ years old. The flowers are 4-5 inches long.
