Mcubed, Thanks for the urethane gel tip! Clarice, I had too many teapots and I got rid of some. I only have 6 now. I love them too. I think they're charming.

I plan to work on the sewing caddy next week and I will post another photo when it is complete. Thank you all for your suggestions and compliments.

I think I would just oil it. You could also use a stain/sealer all in one product. Paint could chip with use. Just my thoughts.
