Yep, believe those are huckleberries!! Isn't it awesome to go into a remote location and find acres of these awesome berries??? If we don't get more rain this summer they will be partially dried when it's time to pick :(

We rinse off the berries lightly and quickly dry them off quickly by laying them on paper towels and put fans on them. Then we put them single layer on cookie sheets and into the freezer. Once frozen they go into ziplock bags or we carefully vacuum seal them. They say they will last a year this way...but they don't last long enough to test out that time frame :wink:
