He was kissing all over his mommy!

Kay--is it ever calm over there??

Joint ill? Oh no!! I'm glad you caught it quick!

We're getting ready for the Quail Summit visit next week. I have Kennedy coming, and a student from last year and her mom, and Mark took the day off--and his parents will be here! Rosie will sidepass anywhere at any time now--so we added that to our dance and Kennedy has an impressive obstacle course to show them with Whisper! Tuesday will clean the horses up and braid some manes and tails so they look wavy for the visit. :D

Kay--I hope things settle over there!!

For those of us that don't understand what is ulcergard ? I am thinking its to prevent ulcers , but where or how so soon ? What does that sweet thing have to be worried about ? And the grinding of the teeth ? Thanks for being so wonderful about answering our questions and educating us and sharing your mares ! One last question, what is the normal length of pregnancy for a mare ? After watching Precious was just wondering . THANKS

Im trying to get the cam back up. We have a storm moving in and keep losing power and internet.

Teeth grinding is usually a sign of ulcers in horses. Hes on a very large dose of antibiotics so that alone can cause a tummy ulcer. I always keep ulcerguard on hand just in case. It will heal the ulcer and make him feel better.

Normal gestation for a big horse is 340 days. Minis and ponies tend to foal earlier at 330 days. Abnormally long gestations can be caused by fescue hay and other things. I know Joanne is getting really worried the longer that poor mares goes.

Please feel free to ask anything!

Joanne...you can order it online. That's how Kay got hers. :) :) :)
Do they sell it in Arizona?
But, you do have to admit...it's REALLY good!
Yes, See's is in AZ - but I go out of my way to NOT drive by! If I know there's chocolate in the house, even if DH has hidden it, I find it and eat it all up  And if I buy it as a gift for someone, I have to IMMEDIATELY take it to the PO. I'm HOPELESS

Joint ill is a bacterial infection that foals are suspetible to. We think Harley got it as his dam is in a raging heat and urinates all over herself. I was trying to wash her down but its impossible to keep her clean when shes in such a strong heat. Then we he goes to nurse he probably picked up bacteria. It settled in his knee joint. Hopefully the antibiotics will get rid of it. I called my vet today and hes out of town till monday.
