Would love to leave the tree up all year, since the lights are so very pretty at night. However, I live in a small house so the day after Christmas, down it comes and all decorations are stored in the attic until the week before Christmas this year.

My Jim Shore Santas and angels stay out all year. The lighted artificial garland on the mantel is up all year too. Love the way the lights look.

Been done for weeks except for one tree in the backyard that has white lights on it. We'll leave it on until the tree starts to bud in the spring. Looks nice from the family room at night.

I'm all alone now as my husband passed away five years ago. Its too much work for this old lady so made a new plan. Bought me a fake ficus tree and put clear lights on it so of course it stays up the year around..maybe I am just lazy!

The tree and decorations are put away but the house decorations are still sitting on the coffee table. I always have tomorrow to do it. Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow. Those are the words I live by , more so as I get older and slower.

Do like my New Orleans friend does... change the decorations and call it your "Mardi Gras tree". That will buy you some time and eliminate having to explain why you don't have your Christmas decorations down yet.

I have a small collection of ceramic trees that I keep up until I put up my Easter decorations. At Christmas time they are Christmas trees the rest of the winter I call them my forest of trees even though I leave the lights on, they are so pretty and cheerful. I also just remembered I forgot to take down my nativity set. I also leave snowmen up all winter.

My little GD's "helped" dismantle the bare tree last night, but a little 2 1/2' tree told me it was to stay on the buffet. I put some ceramic cardinals/birds in it, a few jingle bells, some little red hearts and a cardinal looking out an acorn "birdhouse" at the top. At the base sits a wooden bench with a small valentine quilt draped across. Christmas is put away, but the little tree said "no".
