I despise being lied to, especially when the person carefully selects his words so that he can later deny what he said. I grew up on old movies, where a man's word was as good as his bond. I don't lie to others and won't put up with being lied to.

My dad told to be cautious of lawyers. His example. "Tell me only yes or no. Are you going to stop beating your wife?"
No right answer.

but hehe, I dated a woman who became a lawyer. Still friends 40 years later.

Yep, reminds me of politicians too! It also sadly reminds me of a relative of mine who twists everything you say so they come out "clean"... Drives me crazy!
